UF Curriculum Committee Approves Minor in Public Leadership
Beginning in the fall, 2009 semester the Graham Center accepted applications for the recently approved Minor in Public Leadership. The minor is an interdisciplinary program of study that provides students with the skills and knowledge critical to serving as effective and ethical public leaders. Students are required to take 18 hours of coursework in public policy, ethics, economics, history and communications. In addition minors serve an internship in the public sector. Students also participate in workshops, seminars and the Center’s speaker series and are eligible for competitive research and travel grants. The minor is open to undergraduates across the university including the natural and social sciences, humanities, journalism, engineering, and business. The Minor in Public Leadership replaces the current Certificate in Public Leadership. Current certificate students will be given the choice of either completing the certificate or pursuing the minor.
